Research and Development Center

R&D center is specializing in polymer material modification and bonding of various materials, involving plastics, rubber, metals, coatings, inks, etc. R&D center has been providing rapid customized technical services and materials that are not available on the market for all Memtech factories.

Introduction

Memtech R&D Center was established since 2006 .It has a group of highly qualified R&D personnel, including several PhDs, masters, and technical personnel with over 10 years of relevant R&D experience.
The R&D Center is engaged in the research and development of new materials, processes, and products mainly based on plastics, rubber, and metals, focusing on surface and bulk modification of polymer materials, bonding and compositing of various materials, environmentally friendly processes and materials.
The R&D Center collaborates with several well-known domestic universities to jointly focus on the research and development of new materials technologies. Multiple R&D products have passed the national high-tech product certification and entered the international automotive electronics and consumer electronics industry chains. It has been recognized as Jiangsu Foreign Expert Studio, Jiangsu Enterprise Technology Center, Jiangsu Automotive Electronics Human Computer Interaction Control Module Engineering Technology Center, and Jiangsu Key Enterprise R&D Institution.

Memtech R&D center was established in Dongguan in October 2006. UV transfer adhesives, coatings, inks, diluents were developed independently.

The R&D center has relocated to Nantong and started developing rubber composite electrical contacts with low resistance and good dust resistance.

UV transfer adhesives for various substrates were develop and mass-produced.

The first generation of low resistance rubber composite electrical contacts was developed successfully and supplied to customers.

A series of high-performance new rubber composite electrical contacts (conductive pills) were successfully developed, a complete production process and quality control system were established, a large-scale production was achieved, and multiple invention patents were granted. The product variety and performance are at the forefront of the industry.

Various bonding technologies related to polymer materials were developed. Multiple bonding methods, adhesives and primers have been successfully developed and applied to well-known brand electronic products. The technology of bonding between primed metal and injection plastics has been successfully developed.

Significant progress has been made in the modification of engineering plastics, with the successful development of modification masterbatches or multifunctional masterbatches. Toughening, strengthening, adhesion improving, processing fluidity controlling, antibacterial, anti-static, and anti-fiber floating masterbatches have been used in production.

Water-based primers for silicone rubber bonding at the forefront of international standards was successfully developed, achieving ultra-low VOC emissions.

Independent synthesis of resin materials for silicone rubber bonding was successfully achieved, and based on increasingly rich experience in material bonding, product quality and reliability have been significantly improved.

A relatively complete production system for adhesives and primers used for rubber or plastics bonding was established, achieving large-scale production capacity。

The production challenges of bonding and assembly processes between metal domes and silicone rubber keypads was overcome, the bonding strength between metal domes and silicone rubber keypads passing rigorous reliability testing.

Centre Director---Dr. Han Huisheng

In 1996, Dr. Han obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 1997 to 1999, he carried out postdoctoral research in the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Physics of the National University of Singapore, and during the two years, he published nine research papers in international chemistry and materials journals, all of which were indexed in SCI.
Dr. Han joined Memtech in 2010 and served as the Director of Memtech R&D Center (Director of Memtech R&D Institute) and the Director of Nantong Memtech Technology Co., Ltd.'s Innovation Technology Center.
Dr. Han has currently 35 valid Chinese invention patents, 7 valid US, Japanese and German invention patents.

Dr. Han was awarded the title of Jiangsu Province Entrepreneurial and Innovative Talent in 2011 and the title of Jianghai Talent in Nantong City in 2012. Dr. Han won Nantong Science and Technology Progress Award in 2012, Nantong Inventor Award in 2018, Achievement Award for Overseas Returnees of Nantong City in 2020, the second prize of Jiangsu Province Enterprise Management Modernization Innovation Achievement in 2020,and the Jiangsu Province Science and Technology Award (International Science and Technology Cooperation Award) in 2024.
